FED: Plan paves way for elective surgery in private hospitals
CANBERRA, April 12 AAP - The Rudd government has released its final position on heath
reform, pledging an additional $650 million to cut elective surgery waiting lists by allowing
Medicare-funded surgery in private hospitals.
The plan will guarantee 95 per cent of patients are treated within clinically recommended times.
