Greg Tew earned his B.S. in chemistry from North Carolina State University in 1995 and his Ph.D. in 2000 from the University of Illinois-Urbana, where he studied under Prof. Sam Stupp. His work on self-assembling rod-coil molecules lead to an understanding of the important molecular structures and association energies governing nanostructure formation.
